On 25 Setember 2025, at ICTER we had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Michel Paques (Institut de la Vision, Paris) and Prof. Paul Foster (UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, London) to further strengthen our collaboration within TRIO-Vi – Translational Research and Innovation in Ophthalmology Vision Centre of Excellence.
This visit follows our inspiring trip earlier this year to the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. It was a great opportunity to continue discussions with Prof. Foster here in Warsaw — and the conversation will continue soon, as we meet Prof. Paques again during CRATER 2025.
During the visit, we worked together on:
-
👁️ Co-designing the Translational Eye Platform (TEP) and the ICTER Virtual Clinic, tailored to Poland’s healthcare context.
-
👁️ Developing shared education pathways, including the Patient Academy and joint training programmes for clinicians and researchers across the consortium.
-
👁️ Identifying priority clinical challenges and outlining a practical roadmap to address them.
The day was filled with fresh perspectives, open discussion, and a shared vision for translating cutting-edge eye research into tangible clinical impact.
ICTER participants included:
Prof. Maciej Wojtkowski, Prof. Christophe Gorecki, Dr. Maciej Barański, Piotr Chaniecki, MD, PhD, and Marta Mikuła-Zdankowska, PhD Eng.
